Polish Film Festival comes to Belfast
Northern Ireland’s first ever ‘Polish Film Festival’ will take place this week at Queen’s Film Theatre in Belfast as part of Polish Cultural Week.
The festival will open on Friday 27th July with the Irish premiere of ‘Testosteron’, a recent Polish box office hit and will also feature highlights from over 40 years of Polish cinema. The aim of the festival is to share Polish cultural heritage with Northern Ireland audiences and to help Polish people to integrate further with the community in Belfast.
Eva Grosman, Editor of Glosik magazine, one of the organisers of the festival said: “We are delighted to be working with QFT on such an exciting showcase for Polish cinema. We are very proud of our film industry and are looking forward to giving audiences a flavour of what we have produced so far, at the best world cinema venue in Northern Ireland.”
The festival will run from Friday 27th July to Thursday 2nd August.

Second Man Extradited From Poland To Northern Ireland
A second man has been extradited from Poland to Northern Ireland this week to face charges related to the cultivation of cannabis. The 40 year-old-man was extradited from Poland on Thursday 11th April, to stand trial in relation to a number of offences of cultivation of cannabis.

BCC Welcomes Conviction Of Belfast Man For Dog Attack
Belfast City Council (BCC) has welcomed the conviction of a man at Belfast Magistrates Court for an offence involving a dog attack on a woman. BCC brought the prosecution against 43-year-old Stuart Grace, of Forthriver Crescent, Belfast, following a report that Mr Grace’s German Shepherd dog had attacked a woman, injuring her arm and back.

The supermarket has supported the event with a donation of Easter eggs and will form part of the charity's Easter event for families with autistic children and will include a fun Easter egg hunt for all members of the family to enjoy.
