Fermanagh GAA Player Reconsiders Decision To Quit

A Lisnaskea GAA player who quit the sport due to sectarian abuse is reconsidering his decision after he received an apology from the Fermanagh GAA board.

Darren Graham, 25, decided to give up the sport following incidents where he received sectarian abuse while playing for his County Fermanagh club. However, Mr Graham make it clear that none of his team mates were involved.

Mr Graham has said that he is reconsidering his decision to quit after a meeting with the Fermanagh GAA board.

He said that the board are showing positive steps forward and that they are committed to try and rid gaelic football and hurling of sectarianism.

Quinn Nephew Shows Up AT GAA Matches
Peter Darragh Quinn, the nephew of former billionaire Sean Quinn, is reported to have attended to GAA matches in County Fermanagh despite a warrant being issued for his arrest. He was sentenced to three months behind bars for contempt of court on 20 July. He failed to appear at the court hearing and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The Green Party has welcomed the decision by charity & social, Orchardville, to run the Promote Learning Disability Service in Bangor after it was under threat of closure. Although delighted by the news, Councillor McKee said that it was "disgraceful" that day opportunity placements for 52 adults were put under threat.

Communities Minister: Casement Park Is A Key Priority
Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey has identified the completion of Casement Park as a "key priority" for her department. Deirdre Hargey MLA met with Ulster GAA officials at the west Belfast site to discuss furthering the project. Minister Hargey said she is determined to see the project started as soon as possible.
