Finance Minister Sells Part Of Garden To Developer
Finance Minister Peter Robinson has defended his decision to cash in and sell part of his back garden to a property developer.
Six new houses are to be built on the site by a developer.
Mr Robinson said: "I'm one of thousands of people who have sold land over the last few years and I don't see anything remarkable about it."
It is not known how much Mr Robinson received for the plot, however it is believed the houses in the same area in east Belfast, could sell for up to £400,000.
The development includes 16 houses to be built on adjacent gardens sold by Mr Robinson's neighbours.
Residents at Fort Road, a cul-de-sac through which the new houses will be accessed, say that the development will change the character of the area and make it unsafe for children because of increased traffic.
