Police investigate dead man's illness link

Police are to carry out a post-mortem examination on the body of a young man found dead at Garvagh in County Londonderry.

They believe death of the man, who was in his 20's and from the Garvagh area, is linked to the illness of another man, also in his 20's, who was admitted to Coleraine hospital on Thursday.

The police found his body in a derelict house at Kinnard Park on Thursday afternoon.

The area where the body was found is an estate of about 30 houses with the majority of those either derelict or boarded up.

Local SDLP assembly member John Dallat said people in the town were "shocked and distressed" to hear about the incidents.
