Celtic Fans Shout 'Sectarian Abuse' At MP
A DUP MP said he and his wife were subjected to "sectarian abuse" by Celtic football fans while travelling on a recent ferry from Stranraer to Larne.
Gregory Campbell said they were deliberately targeted by a small number of fans who deliberately spoke "sectarian, foul-mouthed and bigoted abuse".
Celtic Football Club chairman, Brian Quinn said he will be in touch with official supporters associations in Northern Ireland to register Mr Campbell's complaint and he will also stress his own disapproval of the supporters behaviour.
The MP and his wife were making the two-and-a-half-hour nighttime ferry crossing on September 15.
Mr Quinn has invited Mr Campbell to a game at Celtic Park to see first-hand the efforts made to stop this type of behaviour.
