HSS In High Seas Blaze Alert
A packed Irish Sea crossing was disrupted today when a fire broke out on a high speed-ferry.
Life jackets were issued to all of the 555 passengers and 46 crew on board the HSS Voyager on route from Stranraer to Belfast, which a spokesman said was in accordance with standard safety procedures.
He also said that the ferry continued its journey to Belfast and that nobody was injured.
The incident happened on the 1000 BST sailing and the blaze, in a sealed turbine unit in the engine room, was put out by an automatic system.

Two Fires At Derelict Factory In Co Tyrone Being Treated As Arson
Two fires at a derelict factory in Co Tyrone are being treat as arson. The first blaze started at Herdman's Mill in Sion Mills on Friday, 10 June, which caused substantial damage. The second fire was started on Saturday, 11 June, at around 8.30pm, and caused further damage. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Pensioner Dies After House Fire In South Belfast
A pensioner has died following a house fire in south Belfast. The blaze happened at a property in the Donegall Avenue area at around 6pm on Wednesday, 30 May. The woman, aged in her 80's, was taken to hospital, however she died a short time later. The cause of the fire is not being treated as suspicious, according to the PSNI.
