Heavy Fines For Tax Fraud Hoteliers
The brothers who own the popular Canal Court Hotel in the border town of Newry have been fined £1.1m each for tax evasion.
Patrick and John McParland were also given suspended four-year jail sentences and have been banned from directing any company for seven years.
The brothers pleaded guilty to making tax declarations to the inland revenue which failed to disclose details of more than 20 bank accounts.
The case involved tax declarations in the 1980s and 90s and covered the period from April 1971 to August 1992.

A 68-year-old man has been sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison for the murder of Alyson Nelson in Whitehead in 2022. William (Bill) Finlay was handed a life sentence last November, after pleading guilty to murder aggravated by domestic abuse.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.
