Foreign Minister Heads North
The Irish Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern is to appear at the Social, Democratic and Labour Party's (SDLP) annual conference in Northern Ireland.
An SDLP spokesman confirmed: "Mr Ahern will be attending the conference but we will have a number of other representatives from political parties north and south of the border as well."
The trip is very timely as Mr Ahern has taken charge of a special committee within Fianna Fail which has begun exploring whether the party should operate and organise on both sides of the border Irish border.
The three-day conference will get under way in Armagh tonight.
