Indian University Link Boost Skills

Jobs and learning skills are being enhanced in a special collaboration with international universities.

Aimed at giving Northern Ireland a tactical advantage, the Province is continuing the process by linking up with a leading university in India.

Speaking during a visit to the renowned Amity University as part of his three day visit to India, Employment and Learning Minister, Sir Reg Empey, said: “Developing collaborative relationships with prestigious institutions are of strategic importance to Northern Ireland, and will increase direct student recruitment and exchange.

“Locally we recognise that there is a need to build upon and improve the links between education and business at all levels – such partnerships in learning and skills, will prepare people for work and help support the economy.”

Taking a tour of the privately owned University, the Minister was able to observe first hand how the Northern Ireland Universities are continuing to develop links and collaborative relationships with Amity University, especially in the area of business skills.
