Cattle Farmers Help Breed New Talent

Specialist cattle breeders, the British Blue Cattle Club NI have taken a shine to a young dance troop and have urged support for an international trip to compete in a major dance event.

Cattle Club Vice Chairman Robert Johnston booked the Dancestarz dancers, to entertain guests at the club’s annual dinner dance in Antrim recently, and provided further help for their fund-raising activities for the big USA trip in 2008 with a collection.

He was impressed to hear that, although just founded two years ago the Dancestarz will represent their country at the Dance Excellence 2008 event in Los Angles, USA against teams from more than 40 countries in the free style disco dancing championships.

From Belfast’s Shankill area the girls, aged six to 16, and their parents are busy raising £25,000 to cover the costs of this American tour.

Troupe leader Michelle Fitzgerald said that she welcomes donations and invitations for Dancestarz to perform at dinner dances, birthday parties, community events, concerts and other cultural happenings.

Home Safety And Crime Prevention Event At Belfast City Hall
A free home safety and crime prevention advice event is to be held at Belfast City Hall on Friday, 01 March. The Belfast Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) has organised the event, which is free and will take place from 10am-1pm in Belfast City Hall. Complimentary tea, coffee and refreshments will also be provided.
