Export Award For Audio Specialist

A specialist high tech company in the audio compression industry has won a prestigious accolade.

Belfast-based APT was awarded the prestigious Export Excellence Award at the 2007 Belfast Business Awards.

Organised by Belfast City Centre Management, the awards showcase the very best of Belfast talent, entrepreneurship, best practice and teamwork.

The Export Excellence award, sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland, was presented in recognition of the tremendous growth and international success that APT has achieved over the last number or years, securing contracts worldwide including major deals in India, Australia, Germany and Korea.

APT’s Managing Director Noel McKenna said: “We are delighted to accept the award for Export Excellence. We have had a very exciting and successful year and we are thrilled to have been recognised by the Belfast Business Awards.

"The award is a tribute to our talented workforce and excellent management team. The company has had phenomenal success over the past few years which has been reflected in the growth of revenues, an impressive customer base, expansion worldwide and ongoing product development and innovation," he said.

The Belfast Business Award for Export Excellence was the icing on a cake for APT who have been recognised in a number of other prestigious business awards this year.

In October the company earned a place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 which recognises the fastest 50 growing technology companies in Ireland.

Also, in 2007, Mr McKenna was nominated in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, which recognises world class entrepreneurs who demonstrate vision, focus and innovation.
