Girls Aloud Third Date Tickets Go On Sale

Tickets for UK girl band Girls Aloud's third date at the Odyssey Arena next May will go on sale tomorrow at 9am.

The band's first two dates at the Odyssey - May 4 and 5 - have already sold out and a third date on May 3 was announced due to phenomenal demand.

The dates are part of the girls' 'Tangled Up' tour, which is in support of the girls' latest album of the same name.

The album, produced by long-standing collaborators Xenomania, is the girls' fifth and contains the hit singles 'Sexy! No No No...' and 'Call The Shots'.

Tickets for Girls Aloud's third show at the Odyssey Arena on May 3 2008 go on sale on December 13 at 9am from the Odyssey Arena box office, Virgin and all usual Ticketmaster outlets. Security Alert In Poleglass Enters Third Day
A number of residents remain evacuated from their homes following a security alert which has been ongoing since Monday, 30 October. The PSNI said they have made progress and are hoping to bring the alert to an end soon. Police received reports that a suspect device had been abandoned in the Poleglass area.

Odyssey Arena To Be Renamed Following Refurb
The Odyssey Arena, Northern Ireland's largest and most famous entertainment venue, is to be renamed the SSE Arena Belfast when it opens following refurbishment in September. The SSE Arena Belfast will join the UK-wide stable of SSE entertainment venues including the SSE Hydro in Glasgow and the SSE Arena, Wembley.

Third Man Charged Over Eddie Meenan Murder
A teenager has been charged with the murder of Edward Meenan in L'Derry. 19-year-old Ryan Walters is the third person to be accused of the father-of-four's murder, whose body was found in an alleyway in the Creggan Street area of the city on Sunday 25 November. He suffered significant injuries to his head and body.

Belfast's Odyssey Arena welcomed its five millionth visitor at the weekend as LBM Belfast Giants took on their Elite League rivals Nottingham Panthers. Aaron Brotherston (pictured) from Bangor was plucked from the crowd and identified as the lucky ticket holder.

Springsteen Tickets Sell Out
Tickets for Bruce Springsteen's concert at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on December 15 have sold out in record time. It took just eight minutes for more than 10,000 tickets - costing £49 and £60 - to sell out. The show sold out faster than Oasis' show at the Odyssey Arena in 2005, which previously held the record for the fastest selling show.

Liquor licensing extension to include Odyssey Arena
Indoor arenas such as the Odyssey Arena will be able to apply for a licence to sell alcohol under changes to be introduced to licensing legislation. At present the Odyssey Arena relies on the discretion of the court to grant occasional licences permitting alcohol to be sold at events such as music concerts.
