Tree Crash Woman Dies

A woman motorist has been killed in the latest in a series of deadly Irish road accidents.

This incident, outside Londonderry, involved a woman in her 30s.

She was killed when her car collided with a tree on the Glenedra Road in Feeney at about 6.30am.

The road was closed on Wednesday morning but has since re-opened, the PSNI has said.

The tragedy occurred outside the home of Michael Kelly, at Feeny in Co Londonderry.

Speaking of his shock at seeing the injured woman - and later learning that he knew her family - Mr Kelly said there had been at least nine accidents outside his home on Genedra Road over the last 20 years.

He said that urgent action needs to be taken over the accident 'black spot'.

Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to contact the police.
