Three Held Over Donegal Murder

Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Andrew Burns last week.

The victim, aged 27, from Strabane in Co Tyrone, was found dead outside a church at Doneyloop, Castlefin a few kilometres across the border in Co Donegal. He had been shot.

The men, aged 18, 33 and 42 are currently being questioned at Antrim Serious Crime Suite. They were arrested in the Strabane area.

John Downey, 66, whose trial over the IRA's Hyde Park bomb collapsed, was detained by Gardai in County Donegal as part of a joint operation with the PSNI. Mr Downey is expected to appear at Dublin High Court on Tuesday afternoon, 06 November.

Man Arrested And Drugs Seized Following Belfast Searches
A 42-year-old man was arrested on Friday 09 November following searches in the Dunmurry area of Belfast. The National Crime Agency (NCA) and officers from the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) searched three residential properties as part of an ongoing investigation into the importation and supply of class A drugs.

North Belfast Murder Victim Conor McKee Shot A Number Of Times
31-year-old north Belfast murder victim Conor McKee was shot a number of times, police have revealed. Mr McKee was found dead by his mother at his Glenpark Street home last Thursday night. Two men arrested over the murder have been released on bail.

Mother of IRA murder victim dies
The mother of an IRA murder victim whose body was never found, suffered a major stroke last week and died in Craigavon Area Hospital. 82-year-old Vera McVeigh campaigned for the return of her son's body after the IRA secretly buried his body in 1975.

22-Year-Old Charged In Connection With L'Derry Shooting Incident
A 22-year-old man will appear before Dungannon Magistrates' Court charged in connection with a shooting incident in Co L'Derry. On Friday 09 March, 2018, a man was found in a car on the Cairndaisy Road with a gunshot wound to his head. He is continuing to be treated for his injury.

Men Charged With Londonderry Murder
Two men have been charged with the murder of a 19-year-old man in Londonderry. Liam Devlin died in hospital after he suffered head injuries following a confrontation in the Linsfort Drive area of the Creggan estate at 2.30am on Saturday morning. Mr Devlin was from Burnfoot in County Donegal and the two accused are aged 19 and 20 years.

Two men deny attacking woman at caravan site
Two men have denied assaulting a woman at a caravan site in Co Antrim on Monday. Patrick Doherty, 49, of Main Line, Larne, and his son, Bernard Doherty, 22, of Belfast Road, Larne, were both charged on Wednesday with the attempted murder of Christine Doherty.

Woman Found Dead At Home In Co Fermanagh
A woman has been found dead in her County Fermanagh home after concerns were raised when she failed to turn up for work. Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of 59-year-old Pauline Kilkenny, whose body was found at her home in the Cornacully Road area of Enniskillen at around 1pm on Tuesday 13 November.

Ulster Bank Staff Foil £20K Customer Scam
Staff at Ulster Bank have been praised for stopping a customer being defrauded of £20,000. They noticed a woman trying to transfer the money from her own account, after being called by a fraudster claiming to be from BT. No money was lost in this attempt and the victim was advised to change her passwords.

Body of Brendan Rushe found in Donegal Bay
The search for missing 15-year-old Castlederg teenager Brendan Rushe has ended with the discovery of his body in Donegal Bay. The body was pulled from the water at around 11am on Wednesday February 27 and taken to Letterkenny General hospital for post mortem examination, where it was identified by a member of the Rushe family.
