Sodexho Chief Executive pays first visit to province

Mark Shipman, the newly appointed Chief Executive of Sodexho UK and Ireland, has made his first visit to Northern Ireland.

During the recent visit Mr Shipman met with the Sodexho's Northern Ireland Chief Executive, staff and some of the company's clients.

One of Northern Ireland's leading catering and support services companies, Sodexho employs over 1,400 people at 120 locations in the business and industry, education and healthcare sectors.

Mr Shipman has extensive experience in catering management services having headed up Wood Dining Services in the US, which has now become part of Sodexho USA.

Formerly known as Gardner Merchant, Sodexho in the UK and Ireland currently employs 55,000 people in over 3,500 locations.

Sodexho is the UK and Ireland's leading catering and support services organisation serving more than a million customers a day.

Globally, the Sodexho Alliance employs 270,000 people in 70 countries and has an annual turnover of £6 billion.

Invest NI has secured an investment which will see Wombat, the US-based financial services group, establish its global centre of software engineering excellence in Northern Ireland. Wombat’s software transfers stock exchange data to remote trading floors in banks at high speed, improving the efficiency and accuracy of automated trading systems.

Citi To Invest £54m And Create 600 New Jobs
First Minister Peter Robinson and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness have announced that US financial services company Citi is to invest £54m and create 600 new highly skilled jobs in Northern Ireland.
