Streets Closed Following Cork Building Collapse
A number of streets in Cork City are reported to have been closed following the collapse of a derelict building in Shandon Street today.
It is understood that the building collapsed shortly after midday.
No-one was injured in the incident, but a parked car was badly damaged and a phone box was also destroyed.
Emergency services are at the scene and engineers from Cork City Council were expected to examine the portion of the building still standing this afternoon.

Major Fire Breaks Out Near Co Antrim Services
Fire crews have spent the night battling a blaze close to an Applegreen service station in Ballymena, County Antrim. The fire appears to have broken out at nearby building materials suppler JP Corry, on the A26 carriageway on Sunday evening, 16 June.

Investigation Into Building Collapse Begins
A Health and Safety investigation is underway after a building under construction in Belfast collapsed yesterday, injuring six people. The accident happened close to the back of the Royal Courts of Justice in the centre of Belfast.
