Police crackdown on illegal gaming machines
Police in Bangor have seized over 50 slot machines in a crackdown on illegal gaming practices.
The operation, which took place last night, involved both police and Customs & Excise personnel. Twenty-one poker machines, 30 bandit machines and around £10,000 in coins were seized at an amusement arcade in the town.
While no arrests were made during the operation a number people are expected to be interviewed with regard to the seizure.
Police were quick to point out that customers who had played the machines in the past would not be prosecuted.
While the club involved has a court license to operate gambling machines, the machines seized did not comply with the licensing regulations for the premises.
