Attempted Rapist Targeted Second Girl
It has emerged that the man who tried to rape a 15-year-old girl in Coleraine on Sunday also attempted to attack another teenager shortly afterwards. The PSNI have said that the girl was attacked in the Crescent area of the town as she walked home from a party early on Sunday. He pushed her into bushes 100 yards from her home, but she managed to fight him off. Inspector John Wisener said the man then returned along the path and approached another girl, who ran away. Inspector Wisener said police believed the attacker was a local man who had been loitering in an area known locally as the Cornfield. "We see this as a particularly dangerous person," he said and has appealed to anyone with information to contact police.
Man Dies In Derry Farm Accident
A man has died after an accident at a farm in Co Derry. It was reported to police just before 6pm at the Tirgan Road farm in Moneymore. A police spokeswoman said the North's Health and Safety Executive was investigating.
£1.1m Improvement For Streets Of Coleraine
The streets of Coleraine look set for a facelift with the announcement of £1.1 million funding for a public realm scheme. The project was announced by Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie last week, and follows on the heels of a similar scheme successfully underway in Belfast. The Coleraine project will see the main pedestrian surfaces of Church Street and Kingsgate Street replaced.
Drowned Ibiza Holidaymaker Named
Officials have today named a young Irish man who drowned while holidaying in Ibiza. Dubliner Brian Francis Farrelly died in his hotel swimming pool in San Antonio on Sunday morning. It is understood the 20-year-old got into difficulty shortly after jumping into the pool. Mr Farrelly had only arrived at the Spanish holiday resort on Saturday. Fellow guests at the Hotel Brisa are said to have raised the alarm, which resulted in local police and paramedics attending the incident. Mr Farrelly was pulled from the water, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for information to trace missing Coleraine man Andrew Smith. Mr Smith, 28, was last seen in the Ballysally area at around midnight. He is believed to have been driving a white Ford Focus. A PSNI spokesperson said: "We are keen to establish Andrew's whereabouts and that he is safe and well. Police can be contacted on 101.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

76-Year-Old Coleraine Man Jailed For Sexual Assault Of A Child
A 76-year-old Coleraine man has been sentenced to nine years at Laganside Crown Court for three counts of sexual assault of a child. The man, who cannot be named in order to protect the victim's identity, will serve four years in prison and five years on licence.

A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.
