Derry Vigil As West Belfast Death Probed

PSNI officers are questioning two men after a woman's body was found in west Belfast yesterday.

The body was discovered in a house in Pollard Street off the Springfield Road shortly after noon on Monday afternoon.

A post mortem examination is to be carried out and the woman's name has not been released yet.

The police said they were working to established the circumstances surrounding the death.

Meanwhile, 100 people have held a vigil outside the Londonderry home of Jean Quigley who was murdered at the weekend.

The body of Mrs Quigley, 30, a pregnant mother of four, was found at her home in Cornshell Fields on Saturday night.

The cause of death was still under investigation but Mrs Quigley had been brutally beaten.

Police officers investigating a two-vehicle road traffic collision in west Belfast have issued an appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage On 10 January officers received a report of a collision involving a car and motorcycle at approximately 5.30pm at the junction of Divis Street and Westlink on-slip, in the city-bound lanes.

Man Arrested In Connection With Sean Fox Murder Investigation
PSNI detectives investigating the murder of Sean Fox in west Belfast in 2022 have arrested a 40-year-old man. The man was arrested following searches in west Belfast this morning, 1 February. The suspect was arrested under the Terrorism Act, and has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite in Musgrave for questioning.

Belfast Man Handed Two-Year Stalking Protection Order
The PSNI have welcomed a two-year Stalking Protection Order (SPO) handed down to a 46-year-old Belfast man at Belfast Magistrates Court. The man had been found guilty of stalking and harassing his 50-year-old female ex-partner.

Three Arrested In Connection With East Belfast Burglary
Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with an attempted burglary in east Belfast on Monday, 11 March. PSNI officers responded to a report of an attempted break in and criminal damage at a property in the Upper Newtownards Road area.
