Cruise Ship Dancers Sought

Among the news for actors, dancers and other artists on an innovative casting website are details of an opportunity for performers to go high seas cruising, professionally and in luxury.

Details feature among the latest opportunities on acting and performing and where to go for castings with news on jobs for actors, models, singers/musicians, extras, reality TV and audience members.

The site allows users to create a profile, upload pictures and apply for any jobs. It is also an interactive notice board run as part of the website-based casting agency's service.

Most recently, it has been helping to find professional dancers for a worldwide cruise.

Tobeseen Casting – found on www.tobeseen.ie - is flagging-up auditions for female dancers, 5'6" to 5'9", aged 21 and over, as well as male dancers and singer/dancers 5'9" to 6'1", also aged 21 and over.

The company wants applications from those with strong ballet technique, along with tap and jazz - adagio and acrobatic experienced are also being sought.

They are offering yearly contracts and salaries - paid rehearsals and vacations - medical benefits - and onboard officer status with single cabins in what is described as "elegant six-star" facilities, cruising aboard some of the "most glorious ships at sea".

An initial rehearsal period is of eight to 10 weeks in Los Angeles with lodging and transportation provided, along with rehearsal pay.

Contracts commence with performance on board ship, offering year-round pay.

According to the website, there is open call castings in London on Tuesday and Wednesday 5th and 6th August 2008 at Pineapple Studios, 7 Langley Street, Covent Garden with female dancers wanted on Tuesday 5th August 2008 at 10.00am and male singer/dancers on Wednesday 6th August 2008 at 10.00am.

As cruise lines are not governed by any union jurisdiction, union and non-union talent may work at sea without threat to their status.
