Catholic Church faces fine over CB mass
The Catholic Church could be fined as a result of broadcasting masses to parishioners in their homes via Citizens Band radio.
It is understood that the Radio Communications Agency have received a number of complaints about the practice which is against current radio communications legislation.
A spokesperson for the Catholic Church admitted that brodacasting the masses was against the law, but said that housebound parishioners would be angered if the service, which initially appeared to be legally acceptable was withdrawn.
Defending the use of the CB radio network the spokesperson said that elderly people confined to their homes would be incensed if they could not hear the religious services that were regularly broadcast on CB wavelengths.

Homes Evacuated In Co Tyrone And Co Down
Homes have been evacuated in two separate security alerts in County Tyrone and County Down today, 19 January. In the first security alert, a suspicious object was found at at a house on the Gortgonis Road in Coalisland. A number of nearby houses have been evacuated and the public asked to avoid the area at this time.
