IATI Jobs Announced

Ten new jobs are set to to be created with the expansion of The Institute of Accounting Technicians in Ireland (IATI).

IATI is a leading accounting technician body with over 10,000 members and students in Ireland.

It has seen new student numbers double over the last five years, with continued growth expected.

IATI has also announced an investment in new, custom-built headquarters in central Dublin, which will open in 2009.

Over 6,200 students are currently enrolled in its 80 colleges nationwide.

IATI said it has seen more school leavers, adult learners and foreign nationals signing up for courses.

Following a recent strategic independent review of IATI’s business, it was recommended that IATI should look to build on its success in the Irish market.

The new employees will see IATI’s headcount increase by almost 50% in 2008. All vacancies are expected to be filled before the end of the year.

New roles cover a range of management, education, technology and consultancy positions.

Many leading Irish accountancy firms have recognised IATI’s contribution to their sector over the past 25 years.

Anne Brady, Partner at Anne Brady McQuillans DFK, said: "As a long-term employer of IATI students and members, we have found that their constantly-evolving syllabus gives our technicians very practical accountancy skills. IATI is the first point of contact when we are hiring."

Gay Sheehan, Chief Executive of IATI, said: "We are delighted to mark our 25th anniversary with the announcement of new jobs, new premises and increasing student numbers.

"IATI has seen many changes in the Irish business landscape over the last three decades and our members have played a key role managing company finances through the good times and bad. With uncertain economic times ahead, IATI is becoming even more relevant to the needs of Irish business."
