Education Minister To Meet With BELB

Education Minister Caitriona Ruane is to meet with members of the Belfast Education and Library Board (BELB) following the suspension of meetings last week in protest at fund shortages.

The Board has predicted a funding deficit of £7.5m by the end of the financial year despite promises by the department for extra money.

The minister and permanent secretary will attend a meeting with BELB members at the DOE headquarters in Bangor next week.

Board members had initially asked the minister to go to their headquarters to answer queries.
