Police revolver lost after north Belfast rioting
A police revolver has been lost during serious rioting in north Belfast.
Police said the weapon, which contained six rounds of ammunition, was 'mislaid' after rioting erupted in north Belfast on Sunday night.
Three police officers were injured in the disturbances, which erupted in the nationalist Spamount Street area.
Police and Army units were called to the North Queen Street area amid reports that a pipe bomb had been thrown at Catholic homes.
However a police spokeswoman said investigations showed the suspected bomb was actually a large firework.
A crowd of more than 200 people gathered on the streets and security forces battled to keep Protestants and Catholics apart.
A vehicle was set alight at Spamount Street in the Catholic New Lodge area as the trouble intensified.
Tensions had been running high all weekend in north Belfast after a contentious parade was allowed to pass through the area.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police Appeal After 'Shot Fired' In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after reports of a shot being fired in north Belfast. No-one is believed to have been injured in the incident in the Farringdon Court area on Thursday. Police are keen to establish what happened and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

BCC Welcomes Conviction Of Belfast Man For Dog Attack
Belfast City Council (BCC) has welcomed the conviction of a man at Belfast Magistrates Court for an offence involving a dog attack on a woman. BCC brought the prosecution against 43-year-old Stuart Grace, of Forthriver Crescent, Belfast, following a report that Mr Grace’s German Shepherd dog had attacked a woman, injuring her arm and back.

Micheal McGibbon Murder: Man And Woman Arrested
Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Michael McGibbon in north Belfast. Mr McGibbon, 33, was shot a number of times in an alleyway in the Ardoyne area on Friday, 15 April. He was taken to hospital to be treated, however he died from his injuries.
