Online Guide To Taxing Matters Launched
The latest guidance for tax agents and advisers is now available in the 'Taxes, Returns and Payroll' theme of Invest Northern Ireland's nibusinessinfo.co.uk site www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk/taxagents As the January deadline for tax returns approaches, businesses and their advisers will be turning their attention to tax matters.
This new area of the site brings together guidance for agents and advisers and has been developed jointly with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
The site gives fast access to information including how to get started with HMRC online services and how to get authorisation to act on a client's behalf. There are also downloadable forms, manuals and guidance to help businesses fulfil payroll and filing responsibilities.
Rodney McMullan, nibusinessinfo.co.uk Manager at Invest NI, said: "Intermediaries are a key new audience for us and we recognise that they represent a huge number of businesses. We want to provide them with a site that is valuable to them, and in turn to their clients."
The new tax section on the site also includes news and events for agents and advisers and information on HMRC's 'Working Together' workshops.
As well as guidance about tax, the nibusinessinfo.co.uk site has a special section about the Chancellor's Pre-Budget Report, which was delivered on 24 November 2008.
In a bid to help businesses through the current economic climate a number of moves have been made by the government.
A summary of the key changes affecting businesses have been posted on the website: www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk/budget
