Grosvernor Road Shooting Probed
It has just been revealed that shots were fired at the property at west Belfast overnight. Two shots were aimed at the property in Selby Court in the Grosvenor Road area shortly after midnight. A woman escaped injury in the incident and PSNI detectives have appealed for information about the shooting.
Death 'No Crime' Say Police
A man is dead and a woman is in a serious condition in hospital after she was stabbed several times at her home in Co Londonderry. The man was found dead at the house in the Mountsandel area of Coleraine early on Saturday morning. The police have said a crime is not suspected in relation to the death, and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Arrests Follow Stabbing
Four people have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Ballynahinch. An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital after being stabbed a number of times in the early hours of Sunday morning. The attack happened at a house in Windmill Park, shortly after 4am. Three women and a man are being held.
Robber Sought
A man wielding a machete has stolen cash and cigarettes from a convenience store during an armed robbery in the Belvoir area of south Belfast. He leapt over the counter at the store at Drumart Square, on Sunday at about 6pm and threatened a female member of staff and took money from the till and then forced the woman into a store room and removed cash from a safe.
School Trashed
Thousands of pounds worth of damage have been caused in what has been slammed as 'wanton destruction' at a school in Coleraine over the weekend. Almost 50 windows were smashed at Coleraine College on the Carthall Road in the town, causing damage estimated at up to £5,000. The vandalism was spotted yesterday afternoon, but could have happened any time after the school shut for the weekend. Around 500 pupils attend the school, taught by around 45 staff, close to the historic Mountsandel area of the town. Principal David Grainger said he was disappointed at the "wanton destruction".
Competition Entries Revealed
Invest Northern Ireland has announced the shortlist of companies competing for a share of the £105,000 prize fund in the 2009 Innovation and Export Awards. Run in partnership with Ulster Bank, the awards attracted a total of 111 applications from Invest NI client companies across the five individual categories. Commenting on the entries, Leslie Morrison, Chief Executive of Invest NI said: "We are delighted with the quality and diversity of the entrants to the Awards. It is clear from the high overall standard that, despite the current very challenging economic conditions, we have clients of all sizes and in all sectors throughout Northern Ireland who are continuing to take a medium to long term view by investing in their future. In recognising and rewarding business success, we hope that more clients will be encouraged to adopt a similar approach."

Police are appealing for information to trace missing Coleraine man Andrew Smith. Mr Smith, 28, was last seen in the Ballysally area at around midnight. He is believed to have been driving a white Ford Focus. A PSNI spokesperson said: "We are keen to establish Andrew's whereabouts and that he is safe and well. Police can be contacted on 101.

Water Service to invest £47 million in Coleraine area
The Water Service has announced plans to start work on £47 million worth of projects in the Coleraine area over the next three years. The investment will see work carried out on the £42 million North Coast Wastewater Treatment Works, which will treat wastewater from Castlerock, Coleraine, Portrush and Portstewart.

Police and the family of a missing man have said they are becoming increasingly worried for his safety. Gary McGrath-Hayes from County Antrim was last seen at home in the Ballybogey area near Ballymoney on Thursday morning at around 07:30. 42-year-old Mr McGrath-Hayes left home in his car, a black Honda Accord, vehicle registration number HEZ 7411.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dromara Assault
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.
