Man trapped in house blaze dies
A man who was trapped in a house fire in County Tyrone has died.
Police were alerted around 10.30 am on Tuesday morning that a man was trapped in a house which was ablaze on the Mullinahoe Road, in Dungannon near Ardboe in County Tyrone.
The Fire Services dispatched three appliances to deal with the blaze which a spokesman confirmed was located in the kitchen on the ground floor.
Firemen wearing breathing apparatus then discovered a man’s body in the kitchen.
There are no other casualties.
An investigation by police and fire officers has been launched to establish the circumstances leading to the man’s death.

Fatal House Fire In Newtownards
A woman in her 30s has died in a fire at a house in Newtownards, Co. Down. The fire occurred at a house in Ilex Avenue at around 5.30pm and the woman is reported to have died at the scene. An investigation into the circumstances of the death is being conducted by police who have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

A woman aged in her 70s has died following a house fire in Derrycush Park, Aughnacloy, County Tyrone. The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) responded to reports of the blaze at 5.50pm yesterday (6 August), with two appliances from Clogher Fire Station and one appliance from Dungannon Fire Station attending the scene.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.
