Geldof's TV Production Company Buys NI Business
A major UK factual media company co-founded by former rock star and entrepreneur Bob Geldof has further expanded.
Ten Alps, which produces factual TV programmes as well as online and print content, has acquired Belfast-based Below the Radar in a deal worth almost £800,000. This latest acquisition continues Ten Alps' strategy of buying TV production companies with a track record in high-end factual and current
The company was founded in 2006 by NI journalists Trevor Birney and Ruth O'Reilly after careers in newspapers, radio and TV.
The company has 11 full-time staff and in-house edit suites close to BBC headquarters on Ormeau Avenue in central Belfast, Northern Ireland.
It has made current affairs and factual films for BBC Newsnight, RTÉ Prime Time, Channel 4 News and BBC Northern Ireland.
