Ryanair Announces More Cuts At Dublin Airport

Ryanair has announced yet more cutbacks at Dublin Airport leading to the loss of 50 jobs among cabin crew, check-in and baggage handling staff.

The airline says it will be closing four routes out of Dublin from July and reducing the frequency of flights on eight other services.

Ryanair chairman Michael O'Leary blamed the Irish Aviation Authority for the cuts, blaming its decision to introduce an Air Traffic Control charge increase of 12%.

"At a time when Governments and airports all over Europe are reducing costs in order to stimulate tourism, the Irish Government is raising costs and introducing taxes which can only damage tourism."

Just last month, Ryanair announced that it was cutting its fleet in Dublin by four planes with the loss of 200 jobs.
