Helicopter Crash Claims Two In Kildare
A training instructor and a student pilot have been killed in a helicopter crash in the Bog of Allen in Co Kildare. A search was mounted after the pair failed to return to Weston Airport near Dublin yesterday.
The Coastguard rescue helicopter from Dublin Airport spotted the wreckage in an isolated area of bog near the Kildare-Meath border at around midday today.
The Irish Aviation Authority is co-ordinated an investigation into the crash.
The news comes as 16 are feared dead following a helicopter crash in the North Sea yesterday.
Eight bodies have so far been found after the Bond Super Puma came down 14 miles off the Aberdeenshire coast on Wednesday.
Twelve of the 16 people on board are from Scotland - eight from the Grampian area - three are from England and Wales and one is from elsewhere in Europe.
Police have said there is no hope of finding any survivors.

Motorcyclist dies during charity event

Woman Dies In Co Down Road Crash
A woman has died in a three vehicle crash in Co Down. The crash happened on the Belfast Road in Saintfield just before 6pm on Thursday, 06 July. A man is in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

RAF Flies Away From Aldergrove
The last RAF squadron based in Northern Ireland has left Aldergrove, the Ministry of Defence has said. Yesterday, 230 'Tiger' Squadron took off in a helicopter diamond formation from Aldergrove for their new base at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire. The flight of the Pumas marked the end of the RAF's 91-year history of flying from Northern Ireland.
