Widow's Appeal Following Templepatrick Shooting

The widow of murdered Templepatrick man Geoffrey Kerr has spoken of her family's grief for the first time, as detectives suggest a motive for the attack could have been robbery.

Sixty-year-old Mr Kerr was gunned down at his home earlier this week. The assailants, posing a takeaway delivery men, overpowered Sally Kerry at the door, and then fatally shot her husband.

Officers leading the inquiry held a press conference yesterday, and said the father of four and local financial advisor could have been the victim of a robbery, resulting in murder.

His wife of 30 years appealed for anyone with information to come forward to police.

Mrs Kerr described her husband as "the rock which we all clung to".

"I'm very proud of Geoff and what he achieved in life and for his sake I want these people found," Mrs Kerr told a news conference.

"He had a huge heart, he was very compassionate, he always put people before himself,

"My husband was just the best person that I could have hoped to have as the partner in my life. My sons and I are just going through the worst possible experience that anyone could ever have."

The Kerr family only moved to the village of Templepatrick a year ago, prior to this Mr Kerry had worked in Ballymena for many years.

After Monday's killing forensic experts combed the scene, while a burned out car, which police believed could be linked to the murder, was found just miles away in Glenavy.
