Search jobs boost and quality recognition

Recruitment solutions company, Search Consultancy, has announced taking on ten new recruitment specialists as it celebrates a successful first year for its regional office.

One year after its opening, Search’s operation in Leicester has been awarded international quality standard ISO 9001:2000, one of the first UK recruitment consultancies to achieve this prestigious quality mark.

Eileen Richards, who heads up the Leicester office, said: “All our staff have worked very hard to achieve this award and we’re delighted that our high standards in quality processes have been recognised. Our first year in Leicester has been a great success as employers and job-seekers in the East Midlands have realised the value of a private sector recruitment company that places people rather than just filling jobs. We look forward to further growth over the coming year.”

Search’s Leicester office, which opened in late April 2001, now covers the whole of the East Midlands, servicing the call centre, office services, insurance and accountancy divisions.

The office currently employs 14 consultants and is set to take on a further ten to help meet the recruitment needs of Leicester’s biggest employers.

Search was recently included in The PriceWaterhouseCoopers Profit Track 100 Survey, which charts the UK’s Top 100 fastest growing private companies.

The company has grown from 170 to over 300 staff in the last 18 months, across nine locations, and is planning to continue this expansion within the next three years to over 600 staff, growing its turnover to over £150 million.

Search was founded in 1987, with chief executive Grahame Caswell leading the board in a management buy-in/buy-out in February 2000.

With offices in Crawley, Derby, Dundee, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leicester, Manchester and Newcastle, Search places some 40,000 people in jobs every year.

The UK recruitment sector is estimated to be worth around £22 billion per year.
