Conveyor 'Belt' Delivers Jobs In Lisburn

Up to 12 new jobs are being brought to Co Antrim this year by a local company servicing and supplying conveyor components to the bulk-handling industry across the UK and Irish Republic.

Lisburn-based ConveyorTek's founding director Philip Trimble emphasised the need for high calibre applicants.

"In a quarry, a mine or other bulk handling situation customers need not only robust equipment, but a fast response support service that solves practical conveyor problems within hours rather than days and all at a competitive price," he said.

"Working with world class suppliers, such as the Semperit Group, the team at Conveyor Tek has invested in modern equipment and energy saving technologies. Investments delivering improved results for our customers and safer, faster equipment for our employees.

"Now appointed all Ireland exclusive distributors of Sempertrans conveyor belting we need to recruit site service personnel, production operatives and technical sales staff," he continued, noting there will also be openings in book-keeping, safety and quality auditing.

Philip, who personally brings 16 years experience in bulk handling equipment design, manufacture, installation and servicing to this Ballinderry-based business foresees further expansion at ConveyorTek as the global recession eases.

"Aside from huge numbers of quarries this island has some of the largest salt and zinc mines in Western Europe.

"However, in this difficult time for many in the bulk-handling industry, we want to ensure our customers get value for money from their existing and new conveyor systems," he said.

"So we have also been investing in developing specialist design software with a global partner and are excited about introducing this new technology to the British and Irish markets.

"This investment, alongside a very experienced conveyor applications team, will offer customers energy savings, extended component wear life and fewer costly conveyor breakdowns.
