First Funeral Of Cumbria Victims Held
The first funeral of a victim of the Cumbria shooting massacre has been held this morning.
Gary Purdham, 31, a father of two and former rugby player, was shot dead by Derrick Bird while he was trimming hedges at his father's farm last week.
His wife Ros and their sons Flynn and Cameron were joined by hundreds of mourners at Mary's Church in Gosforth at 11.45am this morning.
His family requested that mourners wear bright clothing and a PA system will broadcast outside the church grounds.
Mr Purdham was the ninth victim of Bird.
Bird left 12 people dead during his killing spree last Wednesday before turning the gun on himself.

Dead Birds Did Not Have Bird Flu
Turkeys that were found dead on a farm in Suffolk have tested negative for bird flu, it has emerged. Turkeys at Grove Farm in Botesdale were due to be culled after Defra said that they had "dangerous contact" with the initial case of the deadly H5N1 virus, which was discovered at the nearby Redgrave Park farm last Sunday.

Arrest Made In Banbury Murder Investigation
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in Swindon after two people were found dead in a house in Banbury. Police Officers were called to Mold Crescent in the Oxfordshire town around 6.45am where they discovered the bodies of a man in his 20s, and a woman in her 40s. It is believed the victims knew their killer.
