Woman rescued from fire in north Belfast
A woman has been rescued from a fire at an apartment block in north Belfast.
Fire crews were called to the property at Queen Victoria Gardens in Fortwilliam at about 12.45am on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the fire and rescue service said the fire was being treated as "suspicious".
The woman has been treated for smoke inhalation but did not need to be admitted to hospital.
Assistant Group Commander Graham Lowry said a neighbour had raised the alarm: "He was alerted by thick black smoke coming out of the flat. There were no working alarms in the area so it was fortunate that he had noticed the smoke."
The scene has been handed over to the police for further examination.
