Documents And Equipment Seized In Assets Probe

A number of documents along with computer equipment have been seized in the course of an operation in Donegal. Gardai from the Criminal Assets Bureau and the Donegal and Monaghan Divisions carried out a number of searches of premises in Donegal and Monaghan this morning. The searches were carried out as part of 'Operation Limpid' – targeting smuggling and oil-laundering. In all 14 premises were searched including private dwellings and business and professional premises. The investigation is on-going. No arrests have been reported in connection with the incedent. Boy In Court Over Cocaine Find

A 14-year-old boy who was caught holding over €25,000 worth of cocaine has been remanded on bail pending sentence by Judge Katherine Delahunt at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. The now 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, later told gardai that he had been paid €50 to store the drugs which were found behind his bed, in a vent in his room and in the rafters in a garden shed. Defence counsel Mr Garrett Baker BL, told Judge Delahunt that it was "shocking case" which he said demonstrated that "drug barons are now willing to stoop so low to get children as young as 14 to store their drugs". The teenager pleaded guilty to possession of the drugs for sale or supply at his Dublin home on July 24, 2007. He had no previous convictions.

Tyrone Firm Bring 70 Jobs To Leinster

A Tyrone-based company that provides plumbing and electrical services has announced plans to create 70 jobs in the Leinster region in the coming years. O'Kane Plumbing and Electrics said the positions will be created during the next three years. It says it plans to upskill prospective employees to ensure full familiarity with the renewable energy sector.

O'Brien Calls On Govt To Amend The Proceeds Of Crime Acts
Speaking in the Dáil the Sinn Féin spokesperson on justice and equality Jonathan O’Brien TD called on the Government to amend the Proceeds of Crime Acts to ensure that monies seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau can be put back in to communities that are worst affected by drugs.

€2.2m Pledged To Implement National Drugs Strategy
Government has committed some €2.28 million to 12 strategic health initiatives to address priorities set out in the National Drugs Strategy. Each project aimed at tackling drug and alcohol misuse throughout the country will be awarded €190,000 this month, with funding continuing to June 2022.

Three Arrested In Connection With Large Drugs Seizure In Co Cork
Three people have been arrested in connection with a large drugs seizure in County Cork. As part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled substances in the Cork area, Gardaí from Bandon Garda station searched a house at Presentation Terrace, Kinsale on the 27 October.

Eight In Court Charged In Connection With Major Drugs Investigation
Eight people have appeared in court charged in connection with a major drugs investigation in Kilkenny/Carlow Division. A total of 38 suspects have been arrested and detained as part of 'Operation Clave', which targets the sale and supply of controlled substances in Kilkenny/Carlow.

Cocaine And Cannabis Seized In Co Kildare
Cocaine and cannabis herb worth an estimated €34,000 has been seized in Moone, Co Kildare. As part of a planned search of a premises at Lower Belan, garda uncovered €14,000 worth of cocaine and €20,000 worth of cannabis, shortly before midnight on Sunday, 12 June.
