Man Bailed Over Manchester Murder

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder after a disturbance in Manchester city centre has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Zhen Asghar, 18, of Mallowdale Crescent, Bolton, suffered stab wounds at a flat near the Printworks on Monday 21 September 2009.

He died as a result of his injuries on Wednesday 23 September.

Twenty-three people were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and have been released on bail pending further inquiries until the week commencing 2 November 2009.

A 20-year-old man was re-arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday, and has been bailed until Tuesday 3 November.

A post mortem examination is due to take place today.

Further Arrests Made Over London Protests

On the day of the protests 34 people were arrested and taken to various London police stations, however they were all later bailed to return pending further inquiries. Police investigating a disturbance outside a Wolverhampton pub that saw a car veer into a crowd of people, leaving one man seriously hurt, have arrested a second man. Officers were called to reports of a disorder outside The Rookery Tavern in Wood Street at 7.30pm Sunday 4th May.

A man has been arrested and subsequently bailed on suspicion of burglary at at a warehouse complex in east London that was destroyed in a blaze. The massive fire destroyed over 100 artworks from Charles Saatchi's collection of contemporary 'Britart'.

Man Arrested Over Assaults On Suspected Paedophiles
Greater Manchester Police have arrested a man in connection with alleged assaults on two suspected paedophiles. It is understood that a man described as a "vigilante paedophile hunter" has been arrested in connection with assaults on two men in separate incidents on Friday and Saturday.
