Air Gun Tragedy Leaves Youngster Dead
A young boy has been killed in an incident with an air gun in Wales.
The victim, who is a 10-year-old boy, died after being shot with the gun in Swansea.
The tragedy happened in the Llansamlet area and South Wales Police said a 12-year-old boy is assisting with their investigation.
Officers were called to Midland Place in the Llansamlet area of the city on Sunday evening after reports of a boy being injured with an air weapon.
The youngster, referred to by police as Rhys, was taken to the intensive care unit of Morriston Hospital but later died of his injuries.
The weapon has been recovered, a lane has been sealed off for forensic tests and house-to-house inquiries are taking place.
The families of both boys, who are known to each other, have been informed and the police are not treating the incident as "suspicious".
Assistant Chief Constable Colette Paul said: "Our sympathies go out to the family of Rhys, who have lost their lovely boy.
"It is a very difficult time for both families and I ask that their privacy is respected."
Meanwhile, the investigating team have asked that anyone with information should contact the incident room at Cockett Police Station on 01792 562731.

Arrests Follow Edmonton Murder
Police investigating the murder of 15-year old Negus McLean in Edmonton have today made a further two arrests. A 14-year old boy, and a 16-year old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody. Police were called at 7.25pm on Sunday 10 April to reports of a stabbing in Westminster Road, north London.

Toddler In Pond Tragedy
An investigation has been launched after a three-year-old boy died when he fell into a garden pond. Ethan Read, from Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, died in spite of his mother's attempts to revive him before the ambulance arrived. The incident happened at an address in Coney Weston. The death is being treated as unexplained.

A three-year-old girl has survived a shooting in Hertfordshire that left three people, including a teenage boy, dead. Police were called to a house in Bishop's Stortford on Tuesday night around 9:40pm and found the victims - a 17-year-old boy and two men, aged 33 and 52. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
