Boy Hanged At Cumbria Care Home

An 11-year-old boy has died after being found hanged at a care home in Cumbria.

Dylan McDonald, from Kirkby, Liverpool, died in hospital following the incident, which happened last week at Appletree Residential School, near Kendal.

Emergency services were called to the school on the afternoon of October 14 after teachers reportedly discovered the boy in his bedroom.

The boy was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, where he was pronounced dead.

Dylan was under the care of Knowsley Council, who are working with Cumbria Police during their investigation.

Detective Inspector Geoff Huddleston from Cumbria Police said: "Whilst Dylan's death is being treated as suspicious as we have to in these circumstances, i have to keep an open mind until the full circumstances are known.

"We are working closely with the school community and the family to support them at this difficult time."
