Milly Suspect Freed

A scrap dealer arrested on suspicion of helping to dispose of a car linked to the murder of schoolgirl Milly Dowler has been released on bail, police said last night. The 40-year-old man from west London was arrested yesterday morning after questioning.

BA Strike Looms

The likelihood of a pre-Christmas strike by British Airways cabin crew increased at the weekend when a ballot for industrial action was announced among almost 14,000 workers.

Copter Crash Safety Slammed

A coroner has criticised the running of an RAF base following a helicopter crash which killed three men. Coroner Geoff Fell said the running of RAF Benson in Oxfordshire, where the fatal incident occurred was "flawed".

Rising Movie For 2010

The filming for a new drama about the Easter Rising will get under way in Ireland in 2010. The movie, Easter Sixteen, which will star Gary Oldman as James Connolly and Guy Pearce, who starred in LA Confidential, as Padraig Pearse, will begin next April. Work on the new US$25 million (£15m) drama had been delayed on a number of occasions in recent years.

Royal British Legion Cuts Ties With NoW
Following revelations that the phones of murder victim Milly Dowler and bereaved military families were hacked, the Royal British Legion has suspended ties with the News of the World (NoW). Gen Sir David Richards, the Charity Chief of the Defence Staff has described the claims as "disgusting".

Cameron Promises Phone Hack Investigation
Following revelations that the phone of murder victim Milly Dowler was hacked, the Prime Minister has promised a full investigation. A public enquiry will be set up investigating the alleged hacking by the News of the World.

Man Arrested In Milly Murder Inquiry
Police investigating the murder of Surrey schoolgirl Milly Dowler have arrested a 40-year-old man. The west London man, believed to be a scrap dealer, had voluntarily attended a police station earlier today and was arrested by police on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Man Arrested In Milly Dowler Murder Investigation
UPDATE: The man arrested by police investigating the murder of schoolgirl Milly Dowler has now been released without charge. The 40-year-old man from west London was arrested at 10am on Tuesday morning after voluntarily attending a police station. He was questioned about the alleged disposal of a red Daewoo Nexia car.

Action Promised Over Milly's Phone Hacking
The boss of News International has said the "strongest possible action" will be employed if claims that the phone of murder victim Milly Dowler was hacked. It has been reported that a private investigator was hired to hack into Milly's voicemail while she was missing to give the News of the World access to associated 'storylines' for the paper.
