Teenage Child Rapist Detained
A teenage boy who raped a five-year-old boy just eight days escaping a custodial sentence for another attack has been detained for at least three years,
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted a number of charges related to the child, including rape and child abduction.
The teenager had been given a three-year community rehabilitation order on June 26 for the rape of a seven-year-old boy in Tameside.
At Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court today, Judge Peter Lakin revoked the order, which had been passed by Judge Adrian Smith and resentenced the teeenager for the earlier rape offences.
He was sentenced to three years and four months to run concurrently and was also banned from working with children and placed on the Sex Offenders Register. with time served in custody taken into consideration, he will serve a minimum of two years and 359 days before he can be considered for parole.
Judge Lakin described the offences committed by the teenager as "deeply disturbing and very serious" and warned: "It is likely you will not be released for some very considerable period of time."

Child Rapist Jailed For Minimum Term Of 15 Years
A 39-year-old serial sex attacker has been jailed for life, with a minimum term of 15 years. Karl Clay, from Wood End, Coventry, was found guilty in July of 13 charges of raping children and attacking and threatening children and adults over a 16 year period from 1991.

Police Appeal For Missing 16-Year-Old
Police have appealed for help in tracing 16-year-old Joseph Ogun, who has been missing since Monday, 07 September. Police said they are "increasingly concerned" for his welfare. He is described as a black boy, 5ft 8ins tall, of large build and with dark cropped hair. It is not known what he was last seen wearing.

Baby Dies After Being Bitten By Family Pet
A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a baby bitten by dog in Sunderland. The three-week-old baby boy died in hospital following an incident at his home in Falkland Road. Police were called to the address at 04:15 on Saturday, 20 June. It is understood that the baby had been bitten by the families pet dog.

Boy Dies After Falling Into River In Argyll
A 10-year-old boy has died after falling into a river in Argyll while on holiday with his family. Emergency services were called to the incident at 13:45 on Tuesday. The boy was rescued by a passer-by after getting into difficulties. He was airlifted to Glasgow for treatment, however he later died at Yorkhill Hospital.
