Jersey Venue For British-Irish Summit
The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen and the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Eamon Ó Cuiv will attend the 13th British-Irish Council Summit today in Jersey.
The meeting is being hosted by the Chief Minister of Jersey and will be attended by the council's Heads of Administration including Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.
Also in attendance will be the Secretary of State for Wales, Peter Hain and Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond, along with the Welsh First Minister, Rhodri Morgan.
Issues for discussion will include the economic situation, language issues and renewable energy matters.

Growth Industries Get Training Boost
Two of the UK’s most important growth industries received a boost today as Skills Minister John Hayes announced a new National Skills Academy (NSA) for Composites and Biotechnology. The Academy, which will form part of the National Skills Academy for Process Industries, will receive up to £1.98m of funding over 3 years, matched by employers.
