Oldham 'Class A' Drugs Swoop

A man has been charged after drugs were found at a house in Oldham.

Lee Cameron, 26, of Shaw Road, Oldham was charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Oldham Magistrates Court on Thursday 19 November 2009.

The charge relates to drugs and cash being found by officers on patrol in a car on Edge Lane Street, at about 6pm on Friday 13 November 2009.

Police said that as a result of this, a house on Shaw Road in Oldham was searched and more drugs and cash were found.

The drugs are believed to be cocaine and cannabis.

Three other men, aged 21, 24 and 25, have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply. They have been bailed until 15 February 2010.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Huge Oldham Cannabis Seizure Revealed
More than 3,300 cannabis plants, worth around £500,000, have been seized by police in Oldham. Police went to a house on Rochdale Road, Royton around 2.50pm last Thursday, when a total of 2492 plants were recovered along with a large amount of cash. A BMW was also seized.

Brixton Drug Gang Get Long Sentences
A gang of criminals who ran a lucrative drug dealing network from a car tyre shop in Brixton were sentenced last week to a total of 81 years in prison. Nine men, who were previously convicted of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, appeared at Kingston Crown Court today to hear their sentences.

Oldham Explosion Inquiry Continues
Oldham Council and a range of partner organisations across all sectors are continuing work to assist residents affected by Tuesday's explosion in Shaw. Police now say the death of the two-year-old, named as Jamie Heaton, is being treated as suspicious. The explosion in Buckley Street, also left a 27-year-old man in hospital with burns.

Business Man Convicted Of Selling Fake Bomb Detectors
A 47-year-old man has been convicted of fraud in relation to the making and selling of fake bomb detectors. Gary Bolton, of Redshank Road in Chatham, Kent, made "nothing more than boxes with handles and antennae", which were then sold for £10,000 each, the Old Bailey heard.
