Flood Warning For England And Scotland
Parts of north England, Scotland and Wales have been issued with severe flooding warnings, as forecasters predict heavy downpours over the next few days.
In total 32 British regions have been identified by the Environment Agency as being at risk. North west England is expected to be worst hit.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued 11 warnings.
River Teviot and Ettrick Water near Hawick in southern Scotland are believed to be in danger of flooding.
The Met Office's Bob Wilderspin said the latest spell of wet and windy weather follows on from several storms last weekend.
"The rain will fall on areas that are already saturated and we are working closely with agencies, local authorities and emergency services to ensure they are prepared," he said.
Very heavy rain is forecast to hit Cumbria, spanning western Scotland and north Wales.
Up to 10cm could fall by tomorrow, according to the Met Office.
More than 20cm could affect higher ground in the region, it said.
Gales up to 70 mph could be set to batter coastal areas in Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway.

Further Flooding Threatens North Wales
Over 500 homes in north Wales are at risk after the River Elwy broke its banks. Water levels overtopped flood defences in St Asaph and there are fears more heavy rain overnight could lead to further flooding and travel disruption. An emergency centre has been set up at a leisure centre in St Asaph.

Flood Risks Highlighted As Thunderstorms Replace The Hot Weather
As thunderstorms batter parts of the UK following the three-week long heatwave, the Met Office are warning of flood risks and property damage. However, the hot weather is forecasted to return later in the week, with temperatures up to 30C expected in the south-east. Two flood warnings are currently in place in England and Wales.

A Labour MP has resigned from his post as a ministerial aide in protest at the Attorney General remaining in office. Stephen Hesford said he could not support the decision allowing Baroness Scotland to hold her high profile post, after she was fined £5,000 for wrongfully employing a migrant worker.
