Swine Flu Jab For Under-Fives

Healthy children aged under five are to be given the swine flu vaccine, the government has announced.

Currently, NHS staff, pregnant women, people with chronic health problems and those with compromised immune systems have been offered the vaccine, with the only young children being prioritised for the vaccine being those with conditions such as asthma or diabetes.

However, the government has now announced that all children aged between six months and five years will be given the vaccine, as they have been shown to be the healthy age group most likely to be hospitalised as a result of the virus.
