Teen Lotto Winner Found Dead

A man who scooped £2m of lottery winnings aged 17 has been found dead at his Scottish home.

Police have now launched an investigation into Stuart Donnelly's death.

His body was discovered in Castle Douglas, in Dumfries and Galloway yesterday.

The 29-year-old came to prominence in 1997 after sharing a £25m lottery jackpot.

He and 13 others won over £2m, and later toasted the winnings with a glass of cola.

The former trainee pharmacist gave thousands of pounds to a local hospital, having bought a properties for himself and his parents with the money.

However, in 2003 Mr Donnelly spoke of the pressures he experienced becoming a millionaire so young.

"It was very hard to deal with all the attention I got," he said.

"I even had people camping outside my house.

"It put a huge strain on me and my family."

A spokesman for Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

"We can confirm we are investigating the death of 29-year-old Stuart Donnelly from the Castle Douglas area," a statement read.

"The procurator fiscal has been informed of the death.

"Early investigations suggest that there are no suspicious circumstances and a post mortem is being arranged."
