Hornsey Teen Stabbed In Chest

An 18-year-old man is in a critical but stable condition in hospital following a stabbing incident in Greater London.

Detectives from Haringey today launched an appeal for information regarding the Sunday night attack.

Police were called to an altercation on Hornsey High Street, near the junction with Campsbourne Road, shortly before 7.30pm.

Officers found a man suffering from a stab injury to the chest.

Police performed CPR on the victim until the arrival of the ambulance service.

London Ambulance Service took the victim to an east London hospital where his condition is understood to be critical but stable.

At this early stage it is understood that he was injured during a fight in the vicinity, police said.

Detective Superintendent Mark Lucas, of Haringey, CID said: "At the time of the incident many local shops were still open and there will have been people coming and going.

"I urge anyone with any information about this incident to make contact with police or Crimestoppers."

Three men arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed to return to a north London police station on 26 April, pending further inquiries.
