Man Charged Over Edinburgh Shooting

A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged shooting incident at an Edinburgh pub.

The incident at the Jock's Lodge pub happened around 8.30pm on Sunday.

A 24-year-old male was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment on wounds to his legs before later being released.

The accused is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Police said the victim suffered an injury to his face and also received a number of stab wounds on the leg.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman added: "This was a serious incident, and the victim is lucky not to have been more badly injured. The pub was busy at the time and its patrons were obviously alarmed."

The scene was sealed off yesterday as police forensic teams investigated. House to house enquires were also carried out and CCTV footage which covers the area was recovered by officers.

It is believed detectives were looking for two men in connection with the incident.
