Man, 21, Shot Dead
A murder investigation is underway after a man was shot in the head in East London. The 21-year-old man was found when emergency services were called Ludwick Mews, New Cross at 9pm last night.Police received reports of a man with gunshot wounds in the garden. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say they believe they know the identity of the man, however formal identification is yet to take place. No arrests have been made.
Collision Victim Named
A pedestrian who died in a collision with a car has been named by North Wales Police. Gwilym Rhys Jones, 45, from Froncysyllte, near Wrexham, died following the incident on the A483 at Rhostyllen on Sunday night.Officers said the driver in the car, who was travelling towards Oswestry, Shropshire, stopped and contacted police.The road was closed for a number of hours following the collision.
Prisioner Cuts Off Ear In Escape Bid
A prisoner has cut of part of his ear in an attempt to escape from an ambulance in Greater Manchester, police have said. Michael O'Donnell, who had been sharing a cell with his brother, is on the run from HMP Salford after his ambulance was held up by masked men on Sunday.Greater Manchester Police believe either the 28-year-old or his brother hacked off part of his left ear. A police spokesman said it was "calculated on O'Donnell's behalf". Police have warned anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts not to approach him but to dial 999 immediately.
Motorcyclist Killed in Road Crash
A 30-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a road crash in Carmarthenshire.The incident happened on the A485 between Llanybydder and Lampeter, near Pencarreg, on Monday shortly after 1pm.The man was riding a Triumph motorcycle, and the road was closed in both directions until 5pm.
Teenager Charged with Sussex Rape
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with rape and robbery after a woman was attacked in West Sussex. The teenager from Midhurst is due to appear before magistrates in Worthing on Tuesday. Police said a woman in her 30s was attacked in a street in the Parklands area of Chichester on Saturday, at about 11.30pm.

A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

Police on the Isle of Wight are trying to identify a man found dead in a kayak earlier this month. The man's body was found at Yaverland Beach, Sandown, at about 19:20 on Friday, 11 September. It is understood that he was last seen alive in Newhaven, Sussex.
