Murder In New Cross

Police are appealing for witnesses following a murder on Monday night.

The 21-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds when emergency services were called to Ludwick Mews, New Cross at 9pm on monday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say they believe they know the identity of the man, however formal identification is yet to take place.

Next of kin have now been informed.

A post-mortem examination began on Tuesday at at Greenwich Mortuary and an an incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Gordon Allison from Trident.

DCI Allison said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have information in relation to this murder or who may have seen anything at the time. Trident is working closely with local borough police and the local community to ensure we follow every lead to identify the suspects in this crime."

Anyone with information that may assist the inquiry is being urged to call the incident room.

Murder Investigation Launched Into Tower Hamlets Death
A murder investigation has been launched into the death of a man in Tower Hamlets on Monday, 14 September. A man, aged in his forties, was found with critical stab injuries at an address on Greatorex Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police had not reported the investigation until the victims family had been informed.

Monorail Breaks Down At Alton Towers
A total of 80 people were left stuck for an hour after two monorail trains broke down at Alton Towers on Wednesday. The incident happened at around 5.25pm. Also on Wednesday, the theme park's Air rollercoaster was also temporarily stopped on Wednesday afternoon, with some people stranded upside down on the ride for 20 minutes.

Redknapp Resigns As Manager Of QPR
Harry Redknapp is to resign as manager of Queens Park Rangers (QPR). Redknapp, who joined the club in November 2012, informed Chairman Tony Fernandes of his decision to resign this morning.
